Aww! Well this is ironic. Today I snapped one of my top three favorite boards that I kept and prolly one of the favorite boards I have ever owned. I actually snapped this one earlier in my trip on the same wave that destroyed my goPro. At least this board and my goPro saw plenty of barrels. I think I am just going to give the board away to someone and hopefully they fix it and show it to the inside of some more waves here and give a little longer life. I guess I only have a 6'0" or a 7'6" to use for the last five days of my trip. I will make it work. Check out the board breaking sequence below, I swear the waves looked like it was going to be perfect when I was paddling for it. Hasta manana.
I brought six boards with me and have since sorted through them and sold them over time until I was able to find my 3 favorites that I intend on keeping until I leave to go back home. My 7'6" ended up being my 7th board which I ended up purchasing here for 1,000 pesos ($80 US) and has ended up being one of my keepers. I find it funny because the board is actually a "Cole Surfboard" which was shaped at home in San Clemente and used to be one of my sponsors when I was younger. It was broken twice and repaired before I bought it but as you can see below the board works just as good as it had before it was broken. Cole is an amazing shaper. He makes great boards for rippable lowers and he can make great guns for serious waves far from home. Check out the pictures below. Peace
